• The gallbladder, located on the right side of the abdomen, stores bile – a fluid necessary for digesting fats. This organ responds to signals transmitted during fat intake, so its work depends on the quantity and quality of what we eat.

Some symptoms that may be present:

Recommendations to reduce the risk of gallstones:

• Don’t skip any meals. Follow a regular schedule for your daily meals. Avoid fasting.
• Lose weight gradually. It is advisable to lose half a kilo to one kilo per week.
• Include food rich in fiber in your diet. Try to eat fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
• Prevent obesity and overweight. Reduce the number of daily calories you eat and stay physically active on a regular basis.
