Roberto Piccini, Gastroenterologist of our clinic, gives us some recommendations to avoid this uncomfortable stomach disorder.
Can only gastritis produce a sensation of heartburn?
In this very particular situation we are living, many people have begun to suffer digestive disorders as a result of stress. Reflux is one of them. It occurs when the gastric content, whether acid or alkaline (bile), rises up the esophagus causing irritation. The most common symptoms associated with reflux are: burning sensation and pain in the central area of the chest, heartburn, regurgitation, cruet, and difficulty eating.
How can I prevent it?
To prevent this annoying condition, it is recommended to modify nutritional habits, especially for people who eat a lot at night or go to bed with a full stomach, as well as avoid spicy, highly seasoned, and fatty foods. Exercises after meals are prohibited. Also, people should chew food well, eat moderate rations, not spend many hours on an empty stomach, wear loose clothing, have light dinner and two hours before going to bed, control your weight and raise the head of the bed about fifteen centimeters to avoid reflux.
