Venous ulcer is the end result of a long period of venous insufficiency, causing vascular congestion in the lower regions of the legs and loss of skin continuity (wound), which can last up to more than 30 days and be maintained for many years if proper treatment is not carried out. This injury is usually located below the knee and above the ankle and can be slow to heal. For this reason, Mg. Ana Cabello, in charge of the Specialized Wound Unit (UNEH) and Director of the Nursing Department of Clinica Ricardo Palma, gives us some recommendations for its care.
