Sandro Tucto, Dermatologist of our clinic, gives us some recommendations on how to protect the skin of your child this season at home.
During summer, some parents use to buy inflatable swimming pools for their children so that they have fun at home.
If your children are very young, it is recommended to change the water daily to avoid the accumulation of foreign bodies from the environment such as dust, leaves, etc.; otherwise, children may suffer from infections on the skin caused by bacteria, parasites, or fungi.
The use of disinfectants such as chlorine or bromine is not recommended, since the skin of children is very sensitive to these components. Exposure to the sun should be avoided during periods of high solar radiation, between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.
Put sunscreen on them and reapply every two hours if they are going to be exposed outdoors. Make sure their swimwear has UV protection and that they wear a hat that covers their face, ears, and neck.
Finally, it is very important to keep them well hydrated to avoid heatstroke. Caring for the skin of our children is in our hands.
