The holidays have arrived, and many parents try to find the best alternatives to enroll their children in summer workshops. Therefore, Mary Castro, a psychologist from our clinic, gives us a series of recommendations so that parents and children can find the option that best fits the skills they want to develop or reinforce in our little ones.
What should we consider?
- A decision by all. Above all, the choice of workshops should be made with your children. We must consider that it is about the children enjoying themselves.
- Strengthening social skills. The desire to interact with other children will motivate your children to want to attend these workshops, strengthening their social skills and even their self-esteem.
- Motivation for the activity to be developed. Making a good choice of the workshop to attend will make your children want to go despite the time or distance, therefore, creating a commitment.
- Promoting and stimulating creativity. Creativity in our children is vital for their development, as it will help their performance, aptitudes, and achievements in different fields such as social, academic, and personal.
- Development of potential. When choosing a workshop, we must consider our children’s potential so that they can continue to develop it, be motivated, and even turn it into a discipline that becomes part of their regular activities.
- Physical activities that promote healthy lifestyles. It is advised that you sign up your kids for summer classes where they must engage in physical activity, whether it be athletic or artistic. These will be quite helpful for the youngster to channel their energy, establish healthy habits, and make them enjoy themselves.
