What are the symptoms and how is it diagnosed?
It is not very common in our country. It ranks fifth in the incidence of gastrointestinal neoplasms. However, in the last decade the cases number in men doubled. There are signs that the pancreas is not working well: pain caused by benign inflammatory problems or the presence of tumors. Jaundice is also another recurring symptom, as well as weight loss, vomiting and those related to insulin insufficiency
It is diagnosed by imaging studies (MRI and CT scan). Also with an echoendoscopy or biopsy
The only way to cure this cancer is with early surgery, that is, when the tumor size has not exceeded 2 centimeters or has not involved arteries. In addition, it must be complemented with chemotherapy
Lately the ablative therapy of the tumor with radiofrequency is being carried out successfully
