No one likes to have their heart broken. Times have changed a lot and so has the way we relate to each other. Antonella Galli, psychologist at our clinic, explains what liquid relationships are and how this trend is becoming more and more frequent among young people and teenagers, who do not want commitments and responsibilities to tie them down.
What are liquid relationships and why are they becoming so common?
Liquid relationships are not inherently good or bad. If both parties agree to seek only fun and enjoyment without any kind of commitment, they can work smoothly. However, if one person wants something more formal, the relationship can become toxic. Therefore, it is essential to speak honestly and openly from the beginning.
Why can liquid relationships be harmful?
Remember:
Although these relationships may seem attractive because of their lack of commitment, it is crucial to think carefully before getting involved in such a relationship. Without clear communication and aligned expectations, liquid relationships can cause long-term emotional damage.
