In order to provide greater interactivity, the Intensive Care Unit of Clínica Ricardo Palma has been developing a new communication flow, where the objective is to promote a renewed comprehensive experience for patients and their family
“Our permanent commitment forces us to take actions that involve improvement in the care processes, those that create the best care and treatment, which should be in accordance with our patients’ expectations,” says Dr. Guillermo Contreras, Intensive Care Unit’s Head at Clínica Ricardo Palma
For this reason, this renewed ICU has implemented a reserved reporting room, located on the second floor of the Inpatient tower, where the Treating Physician can discuss the patient’s general condition. Likewise, an innovative web reporting tool has been created where the relative is informed of the patient’s condition and describes their stay over the previous night via e-mail
“This form will be sent daily to the guardian or assigned relative. Likewise, graphic and audiovisual material is being developed to disseminate the different moments a patient goes through while they are in this department. The ongoing training of our multidisciplinary team allows us to provide the necessary support before any scenario that may arise,” Dr. Contreras points out
It should be noted that the Intensive Care Unit of Clínica Ricardo Palma is the first institution to implement this application that benefits the relatives by reducing the anxiety that the patient’s stay in the unit could generate
