Our Plastic Surgery service is always at the forefront of technology in innovative procedures for the benefit of our patients. “The combination of dermoplasty and state-of-the-art laser technology will make us obtain better results because by reducing the amount of excess skin to be removed, it will give us a more natural effect, favor the healing and recovery process of the patient,” indicates Dr. Enrique Chau, plastic surgeon of our clinic.
What is dermoplasty plus laser liposculpture?
It is a modern and minimally invasive surgical procedure, which removes the skin in less quantity than traditional techniques. It goes hand in hand with minimally invasive laser liposuction that firms the tissues internally, achieving better adherence and the skin to retract more.
Who are candidates for this procedure?
Patients who have had significant weight loss, whose skin, despite physical exercise and dieting, can no longer return to its natural state due to distention. This type of patient will present excess skin in the abdomen or in different parts of the body, being able to be remodeled with techniques that can vary from minimally invasive laser treatments to mini surgeries with laser correction.
Which areas can be treated?
In general, the skin is removed from the most redundant areas or with more flaccid skin, for example: arms, abdomen, back, etc., with the aim of modeling the figure and making it look more harmonious. The rest of the areas are treated with minimally invasive lasers, which will correct the skin without the need for cuts.
How long does the procedure and post-operative process take?
The outpatient procedure lasts between 2 and a half to 3 hours. The patient recovers in the clinic for an additional 3 hours and then returns home to rest for 3 to 5 days. As it is a minimally invasive surgery, recovery is fast and requires fewer drainage sessions. The patient returns to work between 5 and 7 days. Physical activity can be resumed within 10 and 15 days.
Our specialist recommends:
To carry out this type of procedure, it is essential to go to a clinic that has highly trained professionals, with the technology and medical experience necessary to perform them successfully, in addition to indicating the pertinent examinations prior to performing it, providing you with the greatest security.
