What are the most frequent infections? How is it transmitted?
During summer gastrointestinal diseases increase in an 80%, due to high temperatures. In general, these infections are caused by a virus, parasites and bacteria that enter the body through food or drinks contaminated with fecal matter.
Be careful with typhoid
It is one of the most frequent infections. Its symptoms are: fever, chills, abdominal pain, diarrhea and general discomfort. Most of the time the patient can be treated at home, without fear of any complication. However; when it is not diagnosed on time, it can cause liver or spleen enlargement, it can perforate the intestinal wall and it cause bleeding.
Precautions
Avoid drinking beverages or eating raw food, or prepared in the streets, or in places that do not offer any guarantee; that is, because of the heat, microorganisms can quickly multiply.
