It is common for people with no medical knowledge to take medications on their own initiative, or to recommend them to friends or relatives, just for their own experience, without being aware of the consequences they can cause. Self-medication is a deeply rooted habit that is growing in some societies, sometimes displacing medical consultation, according to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
“In this VI National Pharmacovigilance and Tecnovigilance Campaign 2024, Clinica Ricardo Palma joins to implement best practices that promote patient safety, with the support of our Pharmacy team to ensure proper and safe use of medications. It is essential that both our patients and healthcare personnel are aware of the importance of reporting any side effects observed when taking medications,” says QF.
