Clinica Ricardo Palma, as part of the Happy Childbirth Program and in compliance with its policy of humanization of care, inaugurates the new Breastfeeding Unit, with the purpose of promoting, protecting and fostering successful breastfeeding. This new service, focused on the effective breastfeeding process of the mother-baby dyad, is headed by Dr. Sarah Vega, pediatrician and neonatologist at Clinica Ricardo Palma, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and, currently, advisor to the Lactation Committee Maternity of the Latin American Association of Pediatrics, Past-president and founder of the Association of International Breastfeeding Consultants (IBLCL) of Peru/ACLAM Peru, pioneer in the promotion and effective support of successful breastfeeding in Peru and Latin America.

What does the new Breastfeeding Unit offer?

The purpose of this Unit is to provide personalized counseling service in an appropriate environment on all situations that may arise when breastfeeding, such as pain when breastfeeding, cracks, obstruction, braces, cleft palates, even doubts and erroneous beliefs that may affect the success and duration of breastfeeding.
