What is deafness?
It is the decrease in our hearing capacity that can occur at any stage of life and cause communication problems, isolation and even depression.
Why does deafness occur?
Anything that damages our hearing system can cause deafness. In general infections, genetic alterations, very loud noises, tumors, age, ototoxic medication (whose composition can affect hearing), etc.
What are the signs of deafness?
The person who suffers from deafness does not listen correctly, needs to be repeated phrases, does not understand very well, a situation that worsens in open and noisy places. It is usually accompanied by a persistent noise known as tinnitus.
