Dr. César Carozzi, general surgeon and specialist in hyperbaric medicine, mentions that when the virus reaches the blood and destroys the hemoglobin responsible for transporting O2 in the body, generalized hypoxia or lack of oxygen produces inflammation, pneumonitis and severe respiratory failure.
